Beyond Borders, Beyond Silence: How CPGN Is Creating a Global Shield for Children

“No child should suffer in silence because of where they were born. Protection must be a right — not a privilege.”

When a child is abused in a war zone, a slum, or even a wealthy suburb, one thing remains constant: the trauma cuts deep. But while abuse is universal, protection isn’t.

In many parts of the world, a child’s suffering goes unnoticed, unreported, and unresolved — simply because the systems to protect them are broken, underfunded, or non-existent.

Child Protection Global Network (CPGN) is working to change that — by building a global child protection infrastructure that transcends borders, language, and legal systems.

The Reality: Unequal Protection

According to UNICEF, only half of the world’s children live in countries with laws that fully prohibit corporal punishment. In many regions, physical and sexual abuse go unpunished, especially in rural or marginalized communities.

Even in developed nations, systems often fail to detect abuse early — or fail to follow up effectively.

CPGN’s approach is to bridge these gaps, deploying tools, training, and partnerships that create reliable safety nets for children, no matter where they live.

Our Global Shield Model

The CPGN Global Shield Model rests on three core pillars:

        1. Detection & Forensics:

    • We train local professionals to identify abuse and document evidence using globally accepted forensic methods.
    • Our specialists assist in the investigation of complex abuse cases, especially those involving trafficking or organized crime.

        2. Protection & Law Reform:

    • We work alongside governments to advocate for stronger child protection laws.
    • Our policy team supports legislative reform to align national laws with international child rights standards.

        3. Healing & Recovery:

    • Survivors receive trauma-informed support including counseling, mentorship, and reintegration into safe environments.
    • We help communities create localized survivor support frameworks that continue long after our teams leave.

Field-Tested. Data-Backed.

In 2024, CPGN’s teams operated in 15 countries, responded to more than 3,800 abuse reports, and contributed to successful prosecution in over 150 cases.

Our training modules are informed by research from WHO, Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child, and the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children.

“Before CPGN’s intervention, we had no idea how to collect evidence. Now, we’ve brought two traffickers to justice in our region.”

Collaboration at Every Level

We don’t work in silos. Our partnerships extend across:

  • National Ministries of Child Welfare
  • United Nations agencies
  • Grassroots organizations
  • Survivor-led support groups
  • Tech companies building AI for child protection

This enables CPGN to act quickly — from filing an emergency report to launching a nationwide awareness campaign.

Why CPGN Leads This Mission

What makes CPGN different isn’t just our reach — it’s our relentless pursuit of results as an NGO working for children’s welfare.
We don’t just raise awareness — we create actionable change.

We go where others won’t. We work with limited resources. We adapt and localize. And most importantly, we listen to survivors and communities every step of the way. That’s why CPGN is leading the global fight to end child abuse — by putting people first and creating change that lasts.
